Professional Development

 

Omnipsych is commited to providing multidisciplinary mental health clinicians with professional development opportunities and materials that enhance their knowledge and confidence in psychological and mental health service provision.  

 

In addition to the following education and training opportunities, Omnipsych has access to a large network of mental health professionals who can provide high quality professional development and training on a variety of topics.   

 

Topics include (but not limited to):

  • General psychopathology:  assessment, aetiology, DSM-V diagnoses 

  • The assessment and treatment of DSM-V anxiety disorders

  • The assessment of treatment of depressive disorders and related issues: major depression, insomnia, self-esteem

  • Mindfulness and Relaxation techniques

  • Managing complex clients in primary care settings

  • Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT)

  • Borderline Personality Disorder: assessment, treatment, management

  • Integrating Technology into Psychological Treatment

  • Post-Seclusion Counselling (PSC): psychological first aid for psychiatric inpatients who have experienced seclusion during hospitalisation

  • Workshops are also available for mental health clinicians that focus on DBT principles and strategies to both enhance service delivery for complex clients as well as promote the self-care of the clinician.
